Amanda Lane

Amanda has completed a variety of education including Social Service Worker, Bachelor of Social Work, and Masters of Social Work. Amanda is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Amanda continues to develop her skills by participating in various training opportunities through the Ontario Association of Social Workers. 

Amanda has been working in social services for 8 years, specializing in gender care for 3 years of her career. Amanda is skilled at supporting teens and adults navigate gender identity and challenges related to medical and social transitions. Amanda has also worked in community mental health and outpatient services. Amanda has worked within shelter systems and women in conflict with the law. Many individuals Amanda has worked with have struggled with intense, overwhelming emotions and a feeling of being ‘stuck’. 

Amanda’s approach helps clients get ‘unstuck’ by utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions such as ACT, DBT, and CBT. Amanda focuses on helping clients ground ourselves in the present moment, allowing for acceptance of difficult feelings and thoughts without judgment.

On a personal level, Amanda is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys spending her weekends in nature. Amanda also has a small cat named Lemon, who loves to try to make appearances during virtual appointments.

Amanda is a warm, empathetic individual whose approach is to first develop the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client in order to build trust before getting deeper into therapy. Amanda will be offering virtual care for individuals at this time in a private and confidential location.
