CLINIC OWNER/THERAPIST
Kyla Balderson
BSW, MSW, RSW, PMH-C
Hello! My name is Kyla Balderson. I am a therapist and clinic owner of Wellness Within.
I am a Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers, Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and an active member with the Ontario Association of Social Workers. I also hold a specialized certification in Perinatal Mental Health and membership with the Postpartum Support International. I have both a Master and Bachelor degree in Social Work from Carleton University. I have been practising as a Registered Social Worker since 2013 in various roles within the Kingston to Ottawa area.
I support individuals at any age in their life transitions, including children/youth.
Change can be tough and constant. Sometimes we adjust with ease, but other times we find ourselves feeling stuck. Life can get in the way from where we desire to be. Fear of change can lead us into feeling guarded, hurt, or even resentful. Do you feel like you are moving through the motions of life and not actually experiencing your life to the fullest? Ruminating on the “what ifs”? Disconnecting from the present, waiting for the other shoe to drop? What if you tapped into the courage within you to lean into these moments? What if I told you that you deserve moments of joy; you deserve to experience the best in your life.
Having someone to listen to you, without judgment or minimizing what you feel and think, is powerful. I provide a safe and collaborative space to develop a greater understanding of yourself, your relationships and patterns in your life. I will work with you to reach your goals while also encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone.
Our work together will help you manage life transitions; understand and cope with emotions; and heal relationships with yourself and others. Are you ready to choose courage over comfort? Ready to reconnect with yourself and live a more present and joyful life? Reaching out is the first step, and when you are ready... I’ll be there!
My experience in the field of social work includes many areas, including both community health services and hospital inpatient and outpatient services. I have also worked within the shelter systems, crisis teams, youth justice, and residential treatment programs. In my various roles, I have found passion in providing individual and group therapy interventions.

On a more personal note, I am a wife and a “mama” to a handsome little man and 3 angel babies. Our family has 2 dogs and 10 chickens roaming around our yard, and it brings me so much joy. I am a lover of the outdoors and the warmth of the sunshine – Summer is my favourite season. I am also a lover of books and journaling! I am very grateful to have a quiet oasis outdoors to do this right at home. I enjoy being active – whether it is hiking; walking; jogging; lifting weights or a gentle yoga practice, I believe strongly that movement creates emotion – and is essential to our wellness.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.
