Sarah Ryce

Meet Sarah Ryce! Sarah is a Registered Nurse, Psychotherapist and the owner of Evolve Therapy & Counselling in Kingston.  She understands that life can be chaotic, and is a believer that having a connection in that chaos makes difficult situations a little easier to manage. 

Sarah has been a nurse for 8 years, primarily working in Women & Children's Health and now offering psychotherapy services. She is I Certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International and work with moms in different areas of their motherhood journey such as; Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Mom Rage and the Maternal Mental Load. She has additional training in Perinatal Grief/Loss and Reproductive Trauma providing compassionate support to those experiencing Infertility, Miscarriages, Infant Loss and Birth Trauma.

Sarah also works with couples who are interested in improving their communication patterns and recognizing their negative conflict cycles; navigate infidelity, betrayal and work towards rebuilding trust. She is a Bringing Baby Home Educator through the Gottman Institute and understand that relationship dynamics/needs change after welcoming a baby to the family. Sarah works with couples during this transition to parenthood and provides skills to maintain a healthy relationship during this amazing, but challenging, time in their lives. As a nurse, she believes in research-based methods and aim to apply these interventions to her therapy techniques.

Sarah also works with children (6+), who are navigating Grief & Loss (Death, Divorce & Life Changes) in their life. She incorporates elements of play into sessions and her goal is to create an environment that feels warm and secure, empowering your child to process their grief and emotions at their own pace.

Lastly, she also works alongside clients who are reaching out for support in Anxiety, Stress/Burnout or experiencing Grief/Loss in their life.

On a personal level- Sarah is a Wife and Mom to 3 amazing kids. She understands the challenges of motherhood and the relationship changes that occur with parenthood. She loves being outdoors with her family, but will be the first to admit that a weekend relaxing at home is her favourite! She absolutely loves a healthy disconnect from life every once in a while and losing herself in a good series binge. More importantly- Sarah loves connecting with others who are having a difficult time navigating very human experiences.
